The cup size ‘D’ is the same in all brands, where as not all brands for example carry a DD. Although a D cup is the same in theory, in practical terms one D cup in one brand could be a different size in another brand, but usually not by much.
It’s also important to note that as the back band increases so does the size of the cup. The D cup of a 16D is bigger than the D cup of a 12D. So in actual fact a 16D is 2 cup sizes bigger than a 12D.
Over the years D cups have been portrayed to be big, associated with busty models and it was almost impossible to find a bra beyond a D cup, but in our extensive experience if you are a D cup you are very much in proportion. In actual fact, a D cup at Brava is the smallest cup we fit. Many women believe they are a D cup because that’s all that has been offered to them in the past. We estimate that most women who visit Brava for the first time and tell us they are a D cup, 50% would be closer to an E cup or F cup. But remember the bra band could be too big, so when we fit a smaller back band on our customers the cup size then goes up to compensate.
If you would like to find all bras available in your size, simply 'choose lingerie' and 'choose size' and click on 'GO' in the Brava search box to your right.
