Which shapewear is right for you?

Our shapewear can comfortably shape your problem areas, accentuate your waistline, minimise the tummy, lift your rear and make inches seem to disappear. You will discover that some can be comfortably worn everyday and others are best just for a special night.

Can Shapewear be comfortable?

Shapewear needs to shape your body, but still allow you to breathe. The secret is a combination between Lycra and other fabrics where the knit stretches, like nylon or even cotton. Lycra provides the smoothing effect while the stretch fabric will allow you to breathe. Seek reasonably high Lycra content - 10% or more. If its a top 5% should be enough.

Fitter's Tips

  • If you are searching for a body-shaping brief for under a skirt, you could try a control half-slip, high brief or control short.
  • Do not wear a smaller size with the thought that it will pull you in more. Doing this will create more bulges where the garment will cut in.
  • Some women find that shapewear rolls down. Unfortunately the fleshier you are the most likely this tends to happen. Try the Spanx high brief, as this has a loop which attaches to the middle section of your bra.

They offer the same level of support but seem to have a bit more flexibility to the fabric which means they are more comfortable if you want to wear them more often than the odd special occasion. The Miracle Suit brand is well known for its shapewear collections. We especially like their control one piece swimsuits because they actually work. They also have a shapewear range which is excellent. Not really for everyday wear as they can feel fairly restrictive but terrific for that special outfit when you want to smooth over any lumps and bumps. Spanx Control Stockings

What an amazing invention. Especially for businesswomen or that special night out. The stockings have a control top but they are also very flexible making them comfortable too. They are available in low or high waist. Spanx stockings are in-stoer now and will be available on-line in April.
