Whilst it may be true that you can't buy love, every woman loves a gift which has been selected especially for her. But how do you avoid that awkward 'Do I have to wear this?' look on her face?
Unleash your inner detective and do some research in her lingerie drawer. What bra and brief size does she wear? Take note of whether it is UK, US or European sizing as they can differ.
We recommend writing down a few sizes and visiting Brava to get our help. If you're not certain about her bra size, then a few pairs of sexy, lacy knickers could win her approval.
If she usually wears fairly simple, nude or black bras - don’t go too extreme. Perhaps try a set with a little lace edging, or a bright, fun colour.
If she often wears cute or sexy bras, then you can push it a little more and find a red plunge bra or a black lacy half-cup bra. Every woman likes to feel attractive, but we don’t all take the same approach to defining what we feel is sexy. If your partner prefers stylish and sensual, go for lingerie with subtle colour nuances, opaque tulle, sensual embroidery or a touch of lace. If she really likes to make the most of her seductive curves, choose lingerie in a transparent fabric or a bra that shows off more cleavage.
Take notice of what kind of bottoms she usually wears. Many women do not like thongs (G-strings) and will not wear them, so your best bet is a brief or short. It’s only safe to buy a thong if you know she likes them.
Different bras suit different shapes. Some women wear only a full cup bra because they like to feel ultimate support. Other women like a half cup to show a little cleavage. So where do you start? Cast your mind back to the styles you found in her lingerie drawer. The style that looks best on her will depend on her body type.
If you’re not sure, you may be best to go in-between and buy a balconette (balcony) bra. If this amount of information makes your head spin, we recommend that you ask the Brava staff for advice on what women want in the area of lingerie.
There is a plethora of colours to choose from. You can go for the traditional Valentine’s red, a pattern, or play it safe with black. We recommend a pretty, lace black set if you are not sure.
If she usually wears sober colours, she will probably prefer subtle tints like grey, dark blue, stylish black or soft natural colours. If she is more colourful in her dress, consider a seductive pink, daring orange or fiery red.
If she says she likes it but doesn’t wear it, it could mean a few things... Perhaps she doesn’t love it. Maybe it’s the wrong size. Or she could lack body confidence (so she doesn’t feel confident about trying it on to show you).
It’s always wonderful to be able to un-wrap a special gift. But if you’ve lost confidence altogether buy her a Brava gift voucher. If she has shopped at Brava before, she will love you for it. If she didn’t know Brava existed before you introduced her to us, she will love you even more! So many women with a fuller bust have a lot of difficulty finding well-fitting, beautiful bras and expert fitters to help them. We have no doubt she will be grateful way beyond Valentine’s Day.
