More often then not customers walk into Brava wearing the wrong size bra; gaping on either side of the bust, a band that’s extremely loose in the back, and cups that just aren’t sitting right under clothes. We will likely notice these issues straight away, and our customers are always happy to find out it’s a very easy fix.
Just recently a customer came to Brava wearing a 12D bra, the size she had been fitted into. The customer, unfortunately, didn’t feel all too comfortable in the bra she was wearing and said that she could constantly feel the wires dig into her. She also explained to us that she struggles with neck, shoulder and back pain from the weight of her breasts, an issue we hear about all the time. Constantly tugging and readjusting all day, the customer was quite tired of wearing this bra and claimed she desperately looked forward to getting home and taking it off. Again, something we quite often hear.
Immediately we knew that the bra was not the right fit, because if it were then our customer wouldn’t be telling us she is dying to take it off. This was then confirmed when the customer showed us a 12D on, as we could clearly see that the wires weren't sitting as they should. Instead of sitting behind the breast tissue, the wires were sitting on top of her breast tissue, which explains why she has been experiencing discomfort. The bra was also fitted to the tightest hook on the back band so we explained to her that this would not allow any extra room to go tighter if the bra stretched.
Knowing that the customer was after an everyday plunge style bra, we then hurry off to find other styles and sizes we believe may work better. Still fitting by eye, we now see how a 10E fits. Straight away we can tell that the cups are sitting far better on our customer, however, the band was still on the tightest hook which we know isn’t an ideal fit and we can see this through the band riding up her back. Although a lot better, the perfect fit had still not been found!
To the customer's surprise, we suggested she try on an 8E, which is vastly different from the size she had walked in wearing. Upon trying it on, we were so pleased to see a correct fit through the back band, with the customer saying it felt firm but not at all too tight and with two hooks allowing the option to go tighter if the bra ever does stretch. The wires were sitting behind her breast tissue, and the cups were holding the bust in perfectly with no gaping or bulging at all. Yay!
Best of all, we could tell the customer felt a huge difference in the fit from the smile on her face. She no longer felt uncomfortable or bothered by her bra, rather she felt supported and light. In this correct fitting bra, she stood tall and confident as opposed to standing with weighed down shoulders. Her bust was lifted and the bra was sitting beautiful and smooth under her clothes. Our work here was done!
