J cup is the size where most retailers simply have nothing. The brands that produce genuinely well-engineered J cup bras are a very short list globally — and at Brava, we stock all of them. A wide range of styles across everyday, full-cup, plunge, sports, and swimwear, in bands from 6 to 24.

Engineering at J cup

At J cup, a bra is doing serious structural work. The underband needs to be very firm — equivalent to what most people would consider tight — because it's the primary load-bearing element. The cups need to be tall, projected, and made from fabric that doesn't stretch under weight. Underwires need to be long, rigid, and well-channelled into the bra casing so they don't shift through the day.

Wire poking is extremely common at J cup and almost always has the same cause: the wire is too short and sitting on breast tissue at the side, rather than on the ribcage. The fix is usually a brand with longer wires (Elomi, Panache) rather than a different size. Our fitters resolve this problem multiple times a week.

The J cup specialists

Elomi runs to K cup and is the most consistent performer at J cup — their deep wires, firm construction, and wide strap design work exactly as required at this size. The Elomi Matilda Plunge Bra is one of the team's most-recommended everyday styles at J cup. Goddess is the best value option at J cup, with excellent full-cup support at larger band sizes. Panache runs to K cup and suits taller, heavier busts with their deep-wire construction. Ewa Michalak handles unusual proportions — very projected, very soft, or asymmetric — better than any other brand in the range.

J cup fitting is a speciality. If you've had persistent fit problems — poking wires, strap dig, band ride-up — a conversation with our team will almost always resolve it.
