Reclaiming the meaning of ‘sexy’ in our 50s, 60s and beyond…
As an Australian business created by women for women, Brava exists to champion the efforts and achievements of fuller-busted women by helping them feel supported, beautiful and comfortable. Over the last 12 years, we have been blessed to meet and chat with many wonderful ladies about what wearing beautiful lingerie and supportive, attractive D+ cup swimwear means to them.
Embracing your sexiness with age
For some of us, embracing our sexiness comes easier with age; but for others it may feel like you’re slowly being relegated to the background and not catered for when shopping for attractive and sexy clothing options. As we hit our 40s, many women start to realise that the things that mattered to them 20-30 years ago no longer matter – our priorities shift and we favour quality over quantity, and health over ‘skinny’ or ‘pretty’. We wear clothing that our own mothers may not have worn as ‘mature’ women and we are quicker to embrace our ageing bodies with an appreciation of all they have done for us.
There are many times throughout life when our bodies change - puberty, weight gain and loss, pregnancy, menopause, illnesses and of course ageing. Our team of staff at Brava range in age from 18 to 70, so we’re incredibly passionate about celebrating and encouraging women to feel empowered, beautiful and confident at all ages. That’s why we’ve teamed up with one of our bestselling D+ cup lingerie & swim brands - Prima Donna – to inspire women and other brands to defy society’s stereotype of the mature woman becoming invisible with age.
