RAQ Apparel - For The Busty Type

This guest blog has been written by the creator of RAQ Apparel & Brava customer, Sophia Argyropoulos.

We all know about the itty bitty titty committee, but somewhere along the way the big rack pack got left behind.

Thanks to lingerie stores like Brava and new labels like RAQ, D cup and up is making a well overdue comeback. Finally, busty women can find swimwear and bras that actually fit, and look good!

So who am I and what is RAQ, you may ask?

My teenage years = more than a handful

Growing up, I was fortunate enough to travel to Greece to spend summer with my relatives. Although I look back at these trips fondly, I’ll never forget how difficult it was to find swimwear that supported my boobs and that I felt was ‘appropriate’ to wear on family holidays.

Scanning the racks at my local swimwear store became a weekly ritual for me; I was determined to try on any new stock that I thought I could potentially squeeze into. Despite my wishful thinking, this was a losing battle. I often felt restricted to daggy patterns and shapes that did not reflect my style or personality.

Making my boobs my breast friends

Despite the countless nip slips, copious fitting room tears and prolonged breast stares, I have come to love my rack in all its glory. I have my mum to thank for this. Coming from a long line of busty women, mum was always there for me when it came to my breast struggles. She taught me to love my body and encouraged me to be confident, and eventually, as I matured (as did my 8FF breasts), her message began to stick. I’ve embraced my boobs and my body, and I want other women to do the same.

RAQ is born

In 2017, I decided to alleviate my swimwear woes by designing one modern, minimal bikini in my size. From there, RAQ was born – a brand for stylish, active, busty women who want to feel confident and supported in a bikini.

For all the women who could only dream of wearing a triangle bikini, RAQ was the next best thing. I like to think of RAQ as the little black dress of swimwear…minus the little, because it’s made for big racks like mine (and yours?).

RAQ’s Colour Collection launches at Brava

The classic RAQ bikini that big busted babes know and love has had a makeover and she’s ready for the big reveal.

One of my goals from the early days of RAQ was to be stocked in Brava, the store that helped me find my first sports bra and my favourite t-shirt bra all those years ago. That’s why I am so excited that we will be launching RAQ’s Colour Collection in all Brava stores across Victoria, NSW and online.

So what are you waiting for? Go chat to the lovely and super talented ladies in store who I trust will find you the perfect fit. Go on! You should rock your big cups baby!
