Fantasie sits alongside Elomi and Freya in the Wacoal group, and occupies a distinct position: the brand for effortless everyday wearability. Where Elomi prioritises structural rigidity for heavier busts and Freya leans into fashion, Fantasie uses lighter fabrics and a distinctive wide side-support panel to achieve lift and containment without the weight of more heavily-engineered bras.
The Fantasie side-support construction
The signature of Fantasie bras is their side support panel — a wider, firmer section at the outer edge of the cup that pulls the bust inward and forward from the side. This is particularly effective for busts that tend to migrate outward under the arm, which is a common complaint at E cup and above. The side panel approach gives good lift and a flattering shape without requiring the rigid fabric structure of Elomi, which makes Fantasie bras more comfortable for lighter busts or women who find firmer bras restrictive.
The Illusion Side Support Bra is a non-moulded lace bra with three-section cups, wide side support and a flat lace top cup. The Smoothing range provides a moulded T-shirt option for everyday use. Fantasie also produces one of the better strapless bras for larger busts in its Smoothing Strapless — a firm-banded style with a silicone grip that performs well at D–G cup.
Fantasie beyond lingerie
Fantasie Swim extends the brand into bra-sized swimwear at D–H cup, with a similar focus on flattering shapes and lighter construction. For comparison with Fantasie's sister brands: Elomi for heavier busts requiring deeper wires, Freya for more fashion-forward styles and projected cup shapes. Browse also full cup bras and strapless bras by style.
Fit note: many Fantasie styles fit generously in the band, so check each style's fit notes before ordering.
