Even at high impact a D cup bust moves enough that a sports bra should encapsulate — support each side individually — rather than simply flatten it against the chest. The advantage at D cup is choice: nearly every sports brand in the range reaches this size, in both wired and wirefree constructions.
Matching the bra to the activity
High-impact styles — running, HIIT and jump-based training — use rigid encapsulated cups and a firm band; medium-impact styles suit the gym, cycling and reformer; wirefree and low-impact styles work for yoga, walking and rest days. At D cup the band does most of the work, so it should feel firm — if the straps are taking the load, the band is too loose.
Brands that work at D cup
Panache Sport, Shock Absorber and Freya Active all fit D cup well. For wirefree support, Anita Active is a reliable choice. Browse the full sports bra range across all cup sizes, or see D cup bras for everyday styles.
