At this cup size, the engineering required — long underwires, deep projected cups, robust side support — is beyond what most swimwear manufacturers attempt. Brava's GG cup range is built around the brands that actually get this right.
The fit challenge at GG cup
At GG cup, encapsulation is everything. Each side of the bust needs to be independently contained and supported — not compressed across — and the cup needs to maintain its shape under significant load, in and out of the water. Standard swimwear, even at this labelled size, uses stretch and compression rather than structure, and the result is a top that loses shape, migrates outward, or simply can't lift at this cup volume.
Underwired tops with channelled wires (rather than soft inserts) are essential. The wire needs to be long enough to clear the outer breast tissue fully — a common cause of armpit discomfort at GG cup is a wire that ends on breast tissue rather than on the ribcage. Wide, padded straps set well away from the neck are not optional at this size.
