Full encapsulation is essential, the band needs to be rigid and firm, and strap width matters more than at any smaller size — wide, cushioned straps are what make high-impact activity comfortable rather than punishing.
Matching the bra to the activity
High-impact styles — running, HIIT and jump-based training — use rigid encapsulated cups and a firm band; medium-impact styles suit the gym, cycling and reformer; wirefree and low-impact styles work for yoga, walking and rest days. At HH cup the band does most of the work, so it should feel firm — if the straps are taking the load, the band is too loose.
