A size 8 woman with an F, G, or H cup will typically encounter one of two responses at a high-street fitting: being told she doesn't exist, or being sized up to a larger band in a smaller cup to find something that roughly fits. E cup is where specialist fitting genuinely changes what's possible. At E cup, the breast projection means that standard wires often sit on breast tissue rather than against the chest wall — and a wire in the wrong position creates discomfort that no amount of strap adjustment can fix.
