Ulla has been making lingerie in Germany since 1948, and it remains a family-owned business with a manufacturing approach that hasn't changed much in that time: hand-sewn tailoring, Swiss embroidery, fabrics selected specifically for support and longevity. The result is a brand that sits at the premium end of the Brava range — and one that offers the widest band sizing of any brand we carry, from size 8 to 34 Australian, in D to K cup.

What Ulla does differently

Ulla uses shorter, softer wires than most fuller-bust brands. Where Elomi and Panache use long, rigid wires to maximise lift and separation, Ulla's wires are designed to flex slightly with the body — which makes them a particularly good option for women who have had problems with underwire pain, poking, or pressure. Despite the softer wire, Ulla bras provide genuine lift and support, because the cup construction and band engineering compensate for the reduced wire rigidity. This is also why Ulla's sports bra range — particularly the Kate Underwired Sports Bra — works unusually well: the softer wire is far more comfortable during high-impact activity than a rigid equivalent.

The Alice T-Shirt Bra and Viola Bra are Ulla's most consistent everyday performers — nearly seamless, very comfortable, and available across the full size range. For women at size 20 band and above, Ulla is one of very few brands that provides genuine choice beyond basic full-cup styles.
