How underwired sports bras differ from everyday underwired bras

A sports bra underwire is typically more robust and more firmly channelled than an everyday bra underwire — it needs to maintain its position through sweat, repeated motion, and extended wear. The cups are usually moulded or multi-section fabric rather than lace or sheer materials, which hold their shape better under load. The band is firmer and often wider, with multiple hook-and-eye positions to accommodate different band sizes and to allow adjustment as the body changes through a workout.
