Sister Sizing Guide
Same fit, different numbers.
Cup size isn't fixed — it's a proportion of your band. So two different-looking sizes can hold the exact same volume. Find your size below, then look either side of it in the same row: those are your sister sizes.
Find your sister size
16DD and 12F are 14E's sister sizes — the ones either side, same cup volume, different band size.

Chart covers Brava's full band range, 6 to 24. The same up-a-band-down-a-cup rule keeps working past either end too.
We never fit you into a sister size instead of the real thing
Sister sizing is a tool for narrowing things down — it's not a substitute for a proper fit. Whatever size you land on, the bra still needs to be the perfect fit for you. If you're ever unsure, our fitters are always the fastest way to a real answer.
How it works
The rule behind the chart: go up one band size and down one cup size, and the volume stays the same. Go down one band and up one cup, same thing. So if a 12G doesn't quite work, a 10GG or a 14F is the same volume — just a tighter band with more room in the cup, or a looser band with less.
We use this two ways:
- Narrowing down your size. If you're between two sizes, or your usual size has started feeling not-quite-right, your sister sizes are the next places to try.
- Moving between brands. Every brand cuts a little differently, so your Brava size in one brand won't always match another — sister sizing gives you a smart first guess when you're trying something new.
Using it between brands
Brands don't all cut to the same pattern, so your size in one won't always be your size in another. This is where sister sizing earns its keep — you might be a 12G in an Elomi, but land closer to a 14FF in a Freya.
It's a starting guess, not a guarantee — sometimes even different styles within the same brand fit differently enough that the "same" size needs a small adjustment. Treat sister sizing as where to start trying on, not the final word.
Why your size might not match your old bra's tag
Every size on bravalingerie.com.au is already converted to Australian sizing — so if you're used to reading a UK or US label, it can look like a different size even when it's the exact same fit. See the full conversion in our bra size chart.
Common questions
Is a sister size the same as my actual size?
Not quite — it's the same cup volume, held in a different band-and-cup balance. If your correct size isn't in stock, or you want a slightly looser or tighter band without losing support, a sister size is usually a safe swap.
Will Brava ever fit me into a sister size instead of my real size?
No. Sister sizing is a tool we use to narrow things down, never a substitute for finding your actual best fit. If you're not sure, a fitting — in-store, ZoomFit, or our Virtual Fitter — will always give you a more precise answer.
Why is my size different in another brand?
Every brand cuts to its own pattern, so the same measurements can land in a different labelled size depending on the brand — and sometimes even between styles in the same brand. Sister sizing gives you a sensible size to start trying on, not a locked-in answer.
